The Zell im Zillertal tourism area comprises five villages:


*ZELL AM ZILLER*
With approx. 2,000 inhabitants and a size of 2.4 km² Zell am Ziller is the heart of the Zillertal valley, and the valley's administration and educational center.

Ready, stead and up the mountains! Everyone will find their private mountain adventure there: Walking and hiking, mountain biking and paragliding. The 45,000 m² leisure park completes the offering with 4 outdoor tennis courts, 3 indoor tennis courts, a modern sports curling alley, an adventure playground, a mini golf course, a fun court for basketball and street ball, a beach volleyball court, a football field and a cafe/restaurant with play area for children and a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains.

The oldest reference of tourism in Zell dates from 1428 when messengers from Italy stopped there on their way to Salzburg. Zell hosts the popular Gauder Fest in May every year, and it is home to the oldest private brewery.

ZELLBERG
Zellberg has 700 inhabitants and covers an area of 12 km². It comprises the village areas of Zellbergeben and Zellberg. Popular sights are the Josefkapelle chapel and the Sacred Heart chapel.

ROHRBERG
Rohrberg has 400 inhabitants and covers an area of 10 km². The Rosenalmbahn lift gives access to the Zillertal Arena, the Zillertal's largest ski area. Rohrberg offers numerous walking routes and friendly inns and pubs.

HAINZENBERG
With some 600 inhabitants and a size of 21 km² Hainzenberg offers many attractions for visitors: Of great interest are the show mine, the zoo, the show dairy and the "Maria Rast" pilgrimage church.

GERLOSBERG
Gerlosberg has 380 inhabitants and covers an area of 16 km². Especially worthwhile are the Gerlosberg Kreuzweg (Stations of the Cross) and many old farmhouses along the walking routes.

ZELL AM ZILLER, the historic and geograhpic heart of the Zillertal valley, is situated 580 m above sea level. Up to 5000 guests can spend their holidays there and in the village areas of Gerlosberg, Hainzenberg, Zellberg and Rohrberg.

Zell offers access to the spacious ski area ZILLERTAL ARENA ski area: 166 km of pistes and 49 modern lifts between 1,300 m and 2,505 m are open from the beginning of December until April. Many chalets and mountain restaurants, snow bars and après-ski bars invite to take a rest!
